John A. Woodward, 83, of Hedgesville, W.Va. died Friday, Feb. 13 in the City Hospital.
Born Dec. 19, 1914 in Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Booten J. and Alberta Sisk Woodward.
He was a retired dairy farmer and was retired from Berkeley County Schools, a former custodian at Martinsburg High School.
He was a member of Full Gospel Pentecostal Church at Four Mile Woods.
He is survived by his wife Mary Jenkins Woodward; two sons Rosser Jenkins of Chiefland, Fla. and Clarence William Jenkins of Gainesville, Fla.; four' daughters and their husbands Doris W. and David Eisel of Broad Run, Daisy and Walter Huff of Martinsburg, W.Va., Susie and David Coffey and Alice and Kenneth Deal, all of Boston; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and one sister Viola Haines of Amissville.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 16 at Full Gospel Church at Four Mile Woods with Rev. Raymond E. Jones. Additional services were also held Monday, Feb. 16 at Maranatha Baptist Church in Amissville with Rev. Clyde R. Woodard officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Jeffersonton.
Brown Funeral Home in Martinsburg, W.Va. was in charge of the arrangements.
