CALL FOR A MASS MEETING RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY REPUBLICANS

I, Walter Longyear, Chairman of the Rappahannock County Republican Committee, do hereby call a mass meeting of the Rappahannock County Republican Party: to be held on Monday, March 23, 1998, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Courthouse.

The purposes of the mass meeting are:

(1) to elect up to 55 (fifty five) delegates and 55 (fifty five) alternates to the 10th Congressional District Republican Convention, to be held on May 9, 1998 at Hanley High School, Hanley Boulevard, Winchester, VA, beginning at 10:00 a.m. for the purpose of electing a chairman of the 10th Congressional District Republican Committee.

(2) to elect a chairman, vice chairman, secretary, treasurer, and committee members of the Rappahannock County Republican Committee.

All legal and qualified voters of Rappahannock County, under the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia regardless of race, religion, national origin or sex, who are in accord with the principles of the Republican Party and who, if requested, express in open meeting either orally or in writing as may be required, their intent to support all of its nominees for public office in the ensuing election, may participate as members of the Republican Party of Virginia in its mass meeting, party canvasses, conventions or primaries encompassing their respective election districts.

There will be no registration fee for the mass meeting. There is a $15 delegate fee for the 10th District Republican Convention. Anyone desiring to become a member or officer of the Rappahannock County Republican Committee is required to send such notice In writing to Walter Longyear, PO Box 124, 636 Mt. Salem Ave., Washington, VA 22747-0124. Such notice must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 20, 1998. Authorized by the Rappahannock County Republican Committee.
