Yuliana Yevoushok is an artist. Her canvas is nature.
She came to Rappahannock from New York City several months ago when she was if hired by The Inn at Little I Washington as their horticulI turist.
Prior to her move here she
[ was the director of horticulture at The General Theological Seminaiy in Manhattan. The seminary is the oldest Episcopal Seminary in the World and sits on an entire city block. The 19th century build•ings encompass the three and a half acres of gardens, known as Chelsea Square.
The gardens had become an area of sparse lawns with a minimal amount of shrubs added. The administration decided it was time to renew a commitment to the gardens and created the position for which they hired Yevoushok.
She applied her artistry to the canvas that was bare, dry and brown and worked a small miracle. She had no staff, no volunteers, no help. She dug in — painstakingly rejuvenated
