Band boosters to meet
The Rappahannock Band Boosters will meet on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock County High School library. All are welcome.
Make-up days determined
The Rappahannock County School Board has determined that March 6 and April 3 will be used as make-up days for the Rappahannock County Public Schools. The decision will be made at the March school board meeting, but it is anticipated that April 6 and April 7, will also be used as make-up days.
Membership meeting set
The Rappahannock Animal Welfare League will be holding it’s annual membership meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library. All are welcome.
VFW student contest underway
The VFW Post 1150 of Sperryville is sponsoring the annual youth essay competition in which 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students are eligible to enter. Students interested in the program should contact their school guidance counselor, or teachers for additional information and entry forms. They may also call Buck Payne at 987-8303.
4-H Clubs to meet
The 4-H Technology Club will meet Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Rappahannock County Extension Office at 7 p.m. This 4-H Club is geared toward children 11 years and older.
The 4-H Small Animal Club will meet on Saturday, Feb. 28 at the Rappahannock Extension Office at 2 p.m. for an informative presentation presented by Dr. Joe Garvin, DVM. For more information call the office at 675-3619.

February activities at Ragged Mountain Resource Center located at Oldway Art Center in Sperryville include:
Saturday, Feb. 21', Rappahannock Water Monitoring Network meeting, Rappahannock Extension Office on Gay Street in Washington, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, topic, Riparian Buffers. Also on Feb. 21 Trail clearing and maintenance hike, meet at Ragged Mountain Resource Center Office at Oldway Art Center on US 211, West of Sperryville, 1 p.m. until dusk. Beekeepers to meet
The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold its February meeting at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19 at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building at the corner of Davis Street and South West Street, Culpeper. The program will be Billy Davis, Immediate Past President of Loudoun County Beekeepers, speaking on preparations for late winter and early spring. For information contact Ann Harman at 364-4660.
