As I settled myself into the big comfortable Stubben saddle atop former steeplechaser On Qui, a little voice in the back of my hand starting talking: “Are you nuts? Getting on some ex-race horse to go play in traffic. You can’t even drive in D.C. traffic, how are you going to manage a 1,200 pound willful animal?” I ignored the little voice and joined the five officers as we headed out at a smart walk.
