Karate classes underway

Shorin-Ryu Okinawan karate classes are currently underway at Ki Theatre in Washington. Playgroup meets at Trinity

The Mother’s Playgroup now meets indoors at Trinity Episcopal Church on Fridays from 10 a.m. to noon. A donation will be collected weekly. For more information call Kathy at 9879009.

Sculpture class to begin

A winter sculpture class, figure sculpture in clay, will begin Jan. 31. The nine-week class will be held on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 and the $225 fee includes model and materials. The class will be taught by Charles Flickinger and will be held at The Oldway Art Center, Lee Highway, just west of Sperryville. For more information call 987-9500.

Youth and parents wanted

The AGAPE Worship Team Band, with Duane and Kent Willoughby, invite everyone to share in an evening of music and worship on Sunday, Feb. 6 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Amissville United Methodist Church. Introduction to Homeopathy

Margery Manuli, M.D. will present a workshop on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 9:30 - noon for those interested in exploring homeopathic medicine as an effective alternative and compliment to standard medical practice.

A brief review of the history of homeopathy and its underlying principles will be given, followed by illustrations of case taking and prescribing for acute and chronic complaints. Participants will gain a basic understanding of homeopathy as an approach to maintaining health and well being, and its integration with other healing arts. $15. Call 937-3326 for more information.

School accepting applications

Epiphany Catholic School in Culpeper is accepting applications for the 2000-2001 school year beginning on Jan. 24.

Currently enrolled students and parishioners from Precious Blood Catholic Parish in Culpeper, St. John’s Parish in Orange, Our Lady of the Blue Ridge Parish in Madison and St. Peter’s Parish in Rappahannock will be able to apply for morning programs for preschool students ages three and four and students that will be attending grades K through six.

Sign-ups will be open to the general public on Thursday, Feb. 17. Enrollment will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call the school office at 825-9017 for an application or for more information.
