McNickle said that make-up looks different depending on the colors a person is wearing. She asks her clients to wear white so that the color tones in the make-up can be adjusted to avoid a washed-out look. The button-front shirt is just common sense.
After the almost two hours in McNickle’s chair, having to pull a sweatshirt over perfect make-up and hair would be traumatic for any bride.
With so much riding on one day, McNickle suggests that brides-to-be plan on a “practice” session a few weeks before the wedding. For a practice session, the bride should wear white and bring her head piece with her. It’s also helpful to have the colors of the bridesmaid dresses handy, as this can be another factor in choosing make-up color.
