villages, certain basic principles of traditional small communities are alive and well in' Rappahannock County. Village stores and businesses still exist (but they need our patronage or they will close).
In some villages, churches serve as focal points. There are local Post Offices, and a local bank here and there. Not one village has been1' despoiled by rapacious development. There is still open space outside our small communities, but some areas are starting to lose this priceless heritage. People are increasingly noticing the nature of things here compared to other counties. And well they should. Sprawl is creeping closer and, in some cases, may be poised to strike sooner than you think.
