already sufficiently prepared. On Friday staff who still need assistance will be involved in training sessions to complete these standards.

• There will also be a guest from the Governor’s Best Practices Center who will present ways to teach the Social Studies curriculum more effectively. She will be helping teachers to align their Social Studies curriculum with the state SOL tests.

• The RCES PTO is sponsoring a Teacher Dinner on Conference Night, and parents are invited to send in a covered dish to help out. Volunteers are still needed to help set up and clean up before and after dinner. This is a wonderful way to say thanks to our teachers for the incredible things they do for our children. If you are able to help, please call Jan Makela, Volunteer Coordinator, at 9878259.

• The first parent meeting for the RCHS Senior Banquet is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 5:30 at RCHS. If you have agreed to serve on this committee, please try to attend. If you have questions, please call Mrs. Mel Paratore at 987-8773 or Jan Makela at 987-8259. Thanks . to Mrs. Andra Logan, RCHS Transition Teacher, and Mrs. Judy Atkins, RCHS Teacher Aide, for acting as faculty representatives to this committee.

• The parent committee to help plan the RCHS After Prom Party has begun meeting to plan this fun event. SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving) co-sponsors the event as a safe alternative for students after the prom from midnight to 5 a.m., but we need many more parent volunteers if this event is to be a success.
