Warren and Rappahannock Counties will operate as separate school divisions in the employment of personnel after July 1, 1975. The decision was reached by the Warren Board following a joint meeting of the two school boards after OA Norton, present superintendent, informed both boards he will retire at the end of the current school year. Flint Hill Fire Department has purchased a new rescue squad motor unit which was put into operation Jan. 25. The 1974 Dodge van was purchased and equipped in Markleysburg, Pa. Emory Russell, Frank Huff and Douglas Bywaters brought it “home”. Lynn Atkins of Flint Hill was awarded the trophy in the big game contest sponsored by the Rappahannock Fish and Game Club. Presentation was made Monday night at the club’s meeting. He bagged a 10-point, 169 pound field dressed buck in Bean Hollow. Morgan Johnston of Washington, president of the hunt club, awarded the trophy. Braxton James of Amissville was named outstanding fireman of the year by the Rappahannock County Firemens Association. H is vice-president of the Amissville Fire Company and has served this volunteer organization for many years
