Book courtesy ot First Washington Museum OUT-OF-THE-ATTIC: The Outdoor Primer from the 1920’s was used often in the Washington School System. In the back w each book you will find nursery rhymfes, memory selections, the alphabet and a word list. There is also a section: “a word about the book.” This particular book focuses a lot on winter and the author assures the reader that with each returning spring the revival of old longings and primitive desires would lead us out to the fields^«rid woods. The books were written in the hope that it will present to the child simple reading material about the things of his/her own environment and within the fields of their interest. The book is on display at the First Washington Museum.
