William Settle Sr.

William Edward “Ned” Settle Sr., 60, of Front Royal died Wednesday, Jan. 19 in the Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Maddox Funeral Home with Rev. George Milgrim and Rev. Danny Clegg Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Flint Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Settle was bom May 26, 1939 in Rappahannock County, son of Hannah Lee Foster Settle of Keameysville, W.Va. and the late Luther Milton Settle.
He was employed by Mitchell Landscaping in Warrenton and was a member of the Shenandoah Shores Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company 5.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, Mildred Louise Settle; two sons, Larry W. Settle Sr. and William E. Settle Jr., both of Front Royal; a brother, James L. Settle of Amissville; a sister, Mary E. Settle Frazier of Flint Hill and six grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two daughters, Emma Settle and Rosie Settle.
Pallbearers were Ricky Hough, Larry W. Settle Jr., William E. Settle III, George Whitmer, John Lake Jr. and Jason Settle.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Lake and members of the Shenandoah Shores Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad.

Marshall Robert Kennedy, 71, of Culpeper died on Jan. 20 at the Culpeper Health Care Center.
He was bom Sept. 11, 1928 in Rappahannock County.
