The last application heard was for a special exception to convert an existing home, located in Scrabble in an area zoned agricultural and conservation, to a residential care facility. The application, by Dave and Grace Gillis, would result in establishment of a six-bed facility on three acres, though the Gillises are separately seeking a boundary adjustment to increase the lot to four acres, in which case they could accommodate eight beds. A site plan submitted with the application shows it located just off Route 522, and depicts recreational spaces including a rock flower garden, a gazebo, a Vegetable garden and space reserved for an additional garden or shuffleboard court. There was no public comment on this application, and the Planning Commission offered its unanimous approval.
