Holiday closings
The following offices and business establishments will be closed on Monplay, Feb. 21 in observance of President’s Day.
All county government offices will be closed. All area post offices will be closed, as will the Rappahannock National Bank and F&M Bank. The Rappahannock County Library will be open, as will be the public school system. The Rappahannock News office will be open and advertising deadlines remain the same.
Civil War Round
Table to meet
The Blue Ridge Civil War Round Table will hold its February meeting this Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Rappahannock Library at 7:30 p.m.
The main speaker will be Arthur Candenquist of Amissville, who will present a talk and slide show on the Centreville Military Railroad, built by the Confederate army irt the winter of 1861-62. At the meeting, the Round Table also will elect officers and hear plans for Sperryville Civil War Days/2000. The meeting is open to the public. For information call Jim Gannon, 987-9536.
