I would like to invite each registered voter in Rappahannock
County to vote in the Republican presidential primary on Tuesday, Feb. 29.
The only voters not eligible are those involved in the presidential nomination process of the Democrat Party, Reform Party or other third parties. This is to prevent activists in those parties from tampering with the Republican presidential nominating process.
State law requires each voter in the Republican presidential primary to sign a statement to that effect.
There are also opportunities for voters to participate in the election of delegates to the Republican National Convention.
Consider what
we need to do
This is in response to your recent editorial about the legislature’s
anti-suicide plan. It is all very well and good for our lawmakers to attempt to stop the hemorrhaging.
But consider this: we already have an anti-suicide plan at our fingertips. It’s authors are the greatest social thinkers in history. It has been field tested for three thousand years, and has spread to every continent of the globe.
Several of it’s greatest heroes, including Job and Elijah, wrestled with the demon of suicide. They found their answer in God. His plan is practical. It’s effective. And it doesn’t cost the taxpayer a dime.
Instead of running to our legislators for help, let’s consider what we need to do.
Turn off the TV. Turn off the Internet. Turn on the Holy Spirit. Or rather, let Him turn us on. Let the light of God be shed abroad in our families, to heal what Solomon called “the plagues of the heart”.
