During this time, she became the Acting Assistant Surgeon General of the U.S. Army in the Surgeon General’s office. The Navy Nurse Corps organization soon followed. After a lifetime of service, she died in 1940 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.
During the business meeting, a most welcome National defense report was read by Mrs. Norman Kloker. The article, titled, “A Tribute to the United States” and written by a Canadian, praised the United States for all the assistance given worldwide in catastrophes and various troubles, monetary and material, yet on one ever helped the United States when needed. His last sentence reads “Stand Proud, Americans.”
