May Anna Dodson Atkins, 86, of Flint Hill died Monday, Feb. 14 at Warrenton Overlook in Warrenton.
She was born April 22, 1913 to the late Annie Maude Atkins Dodson and Jakanise Buchannan Dodson II.
She was the wife of the late Elmer Jackson Atkins.
Mrs. Atkins was a lifetime member of the Beech Spring Baptist Church near Sperryville.
She is survived by four daughters, Rethula Beery of Harrisonburg, Elizabeth Clatterbuck of Front Royal, Elanor Beverage of Front Royal and Nancy Noakes of Flint Hill; one sister, Virginia Gochenour of Luray; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two sons, Hillard Tharpe Sr. and Wayne Jacksop Atkins.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 7 to 8 p.m. at TumerRobertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. in Washington Masonic Cemetery with Elder E. Wayne Thompson.
