gathering momentum
Fourth of July committee chair Charlie Ibmpkins unveiled a hitherto unseen optimism regarding this year’s event. He told the council that “discussions, here in the council, have spawned a gratifying response in RAAC meetings and, with the Council’s blessing, the Fourth will proceed.”
Mr. Tompkins further noted that “volunteer response is the best in years” and he previewed the upcoming Fourth of July organizational meeting, to be hosted by RAAC, at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 16 at the Rappahannock County Public Library. Slated for discussion at the Feb. 16 meeting are the possibility of i increased expenditures for entertain| ment and the “emphasis on local ven; dors and farming ventures.” Helicopter regulations on
