I recently saw a letter in the paper opposing the concept of school vouchers. I favor the i^se of school vouchers because it will give parents a “choice.” In the debate over public education, we have lost focus.
We need to understand, first and foremost, that the best education can be produced only in a proper learning environment, and a proper learning environment cannot be obtained Without a correct approach to discipline. ; Proper discipline is what produces excellence in sports programs. Central to the school’s environment Was a “discipline” of excellence in academics. Misconduct was disruptive to academic excellence, and corporal punishment was utilized when necessary. We were teenage kids, and We pushed the limits; but we knew there was 4 consequence if we got caught misbehaving. Yes, we got away with things, but overall the discipline worked.
