Rappahannock News Photo/Barbara C. Wayland A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the dedication of the new 3,055 square foot post office in Amissville on Thursday morning. The Honorable Frank R. Wolf Member, U.S. House of Representatives spoke briefly on the history of Amissville, the postal service and his admiration for the town — its beauty and its people. The new post office has five employees including three carrier routes and serves a population of almost 2,100. The new post office has ample customer and employee parking and is a full service post office with 461 post office boxes.
On hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, left to right, were: Northern Virginia District Manger Michael Furey^ Congressman Wolf, Mrs. Dorothy Hackley, Amissville Baptist Church Pastor Dr. Norman Edward Taylor III and Amissville Postmaster Charles B. Lear. Over 100 attended the Thursday morning ceremony.
