Budget
The House of Delegates last week was largely devoted to the passage of the Commonwealth budget for the next two years. We consolidated government functions and cut some non-core spending. We did this while providing more money for local school divisions than they received from the state last year and, hopefully, provided state employees with modest raises in the future.
The Delegates worked through the budget on the House floor last Thursday from noon until 10:20 p.m. During the same day, the Senate settled its budget issues much more auicklv.
