a central medium-density area to low-density homes and thence to farmland. Although Clevenger’s Corner was the first Village Center to come on stage, five others wait in the wings: Boston, Brandy Station/Elkwood, Mitchells, Richardsville, and Stevensburg.
As to the search for water to support the Village Centers, in the early 1990s, Culpeper County budgeted $152,000 for an engineering firm, Wiley and Wilson of Lynchburg, Va., to come up with a Master Water and Sewer Plan.
The study was to identify, within an area approximately one-mile in radius, the future water and sewer facilities for each Village Center. For Clevenger’s Corner, the plan noted that wells then in use at the South Wales subdivision could yield 300 gallons per minute; over 400,000 gallons per day.
