Rappahannock County has no master water and sewer plan, as there are no great concentrations of our 7,000 population in any particular area. There are a number of “community water systems,” though. According to October 2001, Virginia Department of Health data, the Town of Washington has a system capable of serving 198 people; the High School has one serving 450, the Elementary School, 700, etc. Various restaurants also have their own water systems, usually serving a population of about 100 people.
