He was born on Oct. 29, 1923 in Rappahannock County.
Mr. Bailey was a United States Army veteran and was stationed in Japan during World War II. He retired from R.L. Rider after 30 years and was a foreman.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 72 and the Bealeton Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ann M. Bailey of Bealeton; one daughter, Mary Ann Hovey of Bealeton; one brother, Bill Bailey of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren.
He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and a special niece, Shirley Settle of Rixeyville.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Woodward and Ella Mae Bailey; two brothers, Cleveland Bailey and Clarence Bailey and one grandson.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Feb. 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m. at Moser Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Payne officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Jeffersonton.
