The first year
With the first year having worked well, 2001 brought more time off, as the couple streamlined their processes, a higher net income and fewer expenses, all without increasing their growing acreage. The farm plan consists of thirty-five 300’x30’ blocks, each with four or five rows, with 12’ untilled grass strips between the blocks. Simple crop rotations are followed, not following curcubits with curcubits or solanaceous with solanaceous families.
