Havura Ktana

to hold program

Rabbi Carla Theodore announced this week that Havura Ktana will be holding its first program this year at the Rappahannock Library on Sunday, March 10 at 1:30 p.m. A short business meeting will be followed by a film and discussion.

“I am hoping to locate a film that illuminates the Israeli/ Palestinian conflict,” said Rabbi Theodore. “The distressing events in Israel and the continuing violence and suffering on the part of both Israelis and Palestinians weighs heavily on many of our minds.”

White there is no Synagogue nearby, local residents have formed a Havura — an informal, egalitarian offshoot of the Synagogue world. Havura Ktana is for Jews and their friends who wish to explore and strengthen their relationship to Judaism. The name of the group comes from two Hebrew words: Chaver - friend and ktan - small.

Anyone is welcome to come and to share their thoughts and concerns.
