Sue Slaughter Group Meeting The Sue Slaughter Group of the Shiloh Association Woman’s Missionary Union will meet on Thursday, October 4 at 7:30 p.m., at the Washington Baptist Church. The missionary speaker will be Rev. Luther H. Morphia whose field of service is Vienna, Austria. He is a native of North Carolina. All members of the WMU organizations of Sue Slaughter Group churches are urged to attend and friends are cordially invited to hear the missionary tell about his work in Europe.

Dream Workshop Scheduled A Dream Workshop with Sheila Foster will be held Saturday , October 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Middle Street Gallery in Washington. “This is a special opportunity to learn about the mystery of our dreams while opening up our inner selves,” said an organizer. This workshop is based on Jungian Dreamwork and participants will share their dreams and journey together into the dream universe. New Film By “Seven Samurai” Director “Dodes’ka-den”, a film about the lives of residents in a slum community with surreal and moving imagery, will be shown October 6 and 7, Saturday and Sunday, at 7:30 p.m. at the Gay Street Theater. It’s rated PG and is 140 minutes long, in Japanese with sub-titles.

Harvest Dinner Planned At Sperryville The Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary will be having a Harvest Dinner on Saturday, November 3, at the fire hall. The menu consists of roast turkey with the trimmings, a variety of vegetables and desserts, rolls, butter and beverages, all for the price of $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. Carry out dinners will be available from 4:30 p.m. till 5:15 p.m. with dinner served at the fire hall from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale by members of the auxiliary and can also be purchased at the door.
