mr we visited s grade B goat dairy, tounuirm, just outside Luray. Mrs. Linda Campbell led ua on a tour of her fcalitaea including a stop at her goat gift shop.

Members of the Udderty Beat Dairy Goat Chib abowed their project animate at the Culpeper, Madison, Rappahannock Farm Show. The dub did an excellent job promoting the dairy goat. We received many favorable comments from the visiting public about the gentleness and friendliness of our dairy coats.

Next year's schedule indudes a lecture from a local vet, a trip to a grade A cow dairy, and a tour of a purebred Saanen farm.

The dub is actively recruiting new members. You don't have to own a goat to belong. You just need to be interested in goats and willing to learn. Phase call Mrs. Phyllis Hibl at 9378791.

This summer 1 was chosen for the honor of being a junior leader at a very special camp. The camp was Camp Fantastic, and it was for children who have cancer. It was held at the Northern Virginia 4-H Educational Center in Front Royal, and organized by Special Love and the National Cancer Society.

It was an enormously rewarding and emotional experience. I met some very special people there; campers and staff alike. We all became very close by the end of the week, and it was really hard to let go when the week came to an end.

When I returned home to Rappahannock, I was drained emotionally and physically. It was definitely a full week. A new activity seemed to be starting the moment the one before was finished.

Some of the activities were: a trip to Luray Cavern, a carnival complete with a hot air balloon and downs, a square dance with a country band and hayride, dances, a talent show, and a magic show just to mention some. The campers for the most part had a wonderful time, and made it a beautiful experience for all the people involved with the camp.

I am really looking forward to seeing the campers again at a Christmas reunion party, and at camp again next year if I am asked to come back.
