World Hunger Weekend
A World Hunger Weekend will take place October 12-14 in Rappahannock. Activities begin Friday at 2:30 at Wakefield School, where Paul Findley of the World Hunger Council will give a lecture. Saturday at 5:30 at the Washington Baptist Church, a World Hunger Dinner will be served, free of charge, in proportion to the distribution of food throughout the world. Reservations must be made October 11. Call 6753193 (RAAC).
Following the dinner on Saturday, classical violinist Jody Gatwood will give a benefit performance at the Gay Street Theatre at 8 p.m., entitled A Concert to End Hunger. Admission to the RAAC-sponsored concert is free, with a suggested donation of $5. Proceeds will be donated to the Save the Children Fund.
