Karen Ludwick came in first among the girls, and 22nd overall. “Karen outdistanced all of her opponents by nearly four minutes,” said Spieker. Kathy Dodson, running for the JV girls, came in second among the girls and 23rd overall. Leslie Nichols and Anna Hudson finished out the field.
The Cross Country team’s next meet will be at home on October 3 against Strasburg and Manassas Park.

Homecoming
Planned
Wakefield School in Huntly will hold its second annual Homecoming this weekend, October 5 and 6.
Activities will begin with a student pep rally in the auditorium on Friday afternoon at 3:30. In the evening, a tour of the new building will be followed by a bonfire at 8 p.m.
The soccer match Saturday afternoon against arch-rival Rappahannock High School will be played on the school’s new North Field beginning at 1:30. The public is invited to attend.
Half-time events will feature the first appearance of Wakefield’s new marching unit, the Grammar School Fife and Drum Corps.
Following the game, there will be a reception for alumni and guests on the grounds of Trinity Manor. There will be a dance Saturday evening, October 6 for Prep school students and alumni. The Homecoming Queen will be crowned at the dance.
