nock County acquired a 4-H Stockman’s Judging Team. It was started by Mrs. Toni Updike. The team members are myself, Laura Adams, and Timmy Falls.
Our first competition was September 21 at the State Fair in Richmond. We had to place classes of sheep, cattle, hogs, and horses. We had to identify meat cuts, breeding types, tods, and feeds. The contest lasted three hours, and afterwards we were able to tour the craft buildings, the horse shows, and the rides.
The team did very well in our first competition. We are planning to go to other contests in the state.

The Udderiy Best Dairy Goat Chib has been active for three years. We have had a lot of fun sharing and learning about dairy goats. All of the members have learned bow to polish their showing techniques with the guidance of Mrs. Mary Jo Fines who resides in Fauquier County.
