Henry Digges of Amissville told the senator a referendum would be a way to let the people decide whether to continue to work to upgrade the 1978 Zoning Ordinance or accept the proposed 1964 Zoning Ordinance. Digges said RPAC has 696 “screened” signatures on petitions calling for tabling of the proposed zoning ordinance. Digges noted the number of signatures may be as high as 1,200; his secretary is still in the process of verifying and weeding out duplicate signatures to get a correct count, he said.
