any state agency to work through the General Assembly and a committee comprising local citizens before diverting or reclassifying the Rappahannock from its headwaters to Deep Run on the Fauquier/Stafford county line. Dennis said endorsement by the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors would make support by Delegate Raymond “Andy” Guest easier.
The proposed scenic river status already has received favorable reviews by Fauquier and Culpeper county supervisors, Dennis said. He asked that the supervisors act on the endorsement as soon as possible following decisions in Cplpeper and Fauquier, both expected this month.
The board motioned to conduct a public hearing November 5 on scenic river status, at which they will hear views from the public.
