Climbing utility poles is a daily part of a lineman's job to keep your electric service at its best. However, many poles have become safety hazards due to the nails and staples which people use to attach signs. Our linemen must depend on their “spurs” digging into the wooden pole to provide surefooted climbing. If there are nails, staples or other fasteners in the pole, there's a chance the spurs will not dig into the wood and a serious accident could result. So please . . . don’t attach or nail anything to utility poles. Thank you.
