The teachers coming to Rappahannock have varying degrees of experience, but teachers who are just beginning their careers raise the most concern when a turnover rate is discussed.
Of 20 new teachers surveyed, six have no prior teaching experience, four have only substituting experience and 10 have taught before.
In an effort to assist beginning teachers and address some of the concerns, the state changed its teaching certificate requirements on July 1.
