1,600 students expected
Clarke County’s schools expect to greet 1,600 pupils when doors open Aug. 26. The five-school system will begin a year of self-study on its goals and objectives in preparation for an outside evaluation in 1986-87.
Assistant Superintendent William Overbey says faculty and staff will “look in the mirror at themselves” as they evaluate the schools’ programs and personnel and the outside community to see if the school system’s philosophy and goals are in keeping with the needs of the county.
The outside team will use the final report from the self study in the same type of evaluation the following year.
The evaluation is necessary for accreditation by the Southern Sctfbols Association as well as by the state.
