that Laurie’s effort was far from part time.
Although she has tried to deflect much of the praise and congratulations — and thanks — coming her way, she was no less a major force behind the establishment and growth of a valuable and worthy project in our community.
R A AC started as a seed in the minds of three men * who sought to save the fledgling Mountain Magic Theatre. From those original three, others — including one Laurie Marshall — joined the movement until 15 or so key members formed the group that today boasts nearly 300 members and operates on an annual budget of some $34,000.
There were plenty of volunteers, to be sure, but Laurie was charged with putting together all the pieces.
For that, Laurie, we’d like to stand and applaud and shout Bravo for a job truly done well.
