Yard sale On August 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., The Child Care and Learning Center will hold a multi-family yard sale to raise money for new classroom equipment. The sale will be at Gib Whorton’s fruit stand, next to the new building site on Rt. 211.
Woman’s Club meeting The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet on August 27 at 8 p.m. at the home of Barbara Burke in Sperryville. Marion Eastham Facchina from the Hunt Country Nursing Services in Warrenton will be the guest speaker. All members are urged to attend.
Lions Club meeting The Rappahannock Lions Club will meet at 7 p.m. August 28 at the Comer Post Restaurant in Flint Hill.
Open house An open house will be held at The Child Care and Learning Center on August 28 and 29 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Anyone interested in obtaining information about the center and observing the programs is welcome to attend.
First Virginia Wine Auction Set Virginia’s first wine auction will be held Saturday, August 31 in Middleburg, in conjunction with the 10th annual wine festival, to benefit the restoration of the historic R.R. Depot in The Plains. The auction will be conducted at the Festival Center on the grounds of “the most beautiful vineyard in Virginia”, Valley View Vineyard, one mile east of Middleburg on U.S. Route 50, home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Swedenburg.
