She said that the elementary school’s veteran teachers are “outstanding” and the staff has always enjoyed good working relationships. “We have a sound educational program here with a warm and nurturing environment and teachers who really do care,” Piper said.
Piper believes that the good staff rapport at the elementary school is a result of good communication.
“We have an open door policy here,” Piper said. “Teachers know that they can walk into the office and talk about anything — good or bad.”
Communication will also be relied on at the high school where 13 new teachers will begin the year.
