,Warrf1nton Police Chief Dale L. Koglin will be off work for at least a month recovering from gall bladder surgery.
The chief had complained of abdominal pains for several weeks. He was being tested for ulcers when the gall bladder stones were discovered, said Lt. Morton Robson who is acting chief until Mr. Koglin returns.
Chief Koglin, 36, had his gall bladder removed last Tuesday at Fauquier Hospital. He probably will be hospitalized for another week, and won’t return to work for four to six weeks, Lt. Robson said.
Landfill injunction

A Fauquier Circuit Court judge last week temporarily barred the county from buying a 207-acre proposed landfill site until the matter receives a full hearing sometime this autumn.
Last Wednesday, Taxpayers Against Waste asked Judge W. Shore Robertson to prevent the county from closing the $352,000 contract with Dell Ennis because the citizens group claims the zoning laws require the county to first obtain a special exception permit for landfill use before buying the site for a “public purpose”.
Judge Robertson didn’t rule on the merits of that claim, but by granting a hearing, he acknowledged TAW’s right to appeal County Attorney James P.
