A much needed new Rappahannock
County High School — no longer a dream but a brick, steel and concrete reality — will open September 1.
Reposing on a 20-acre lot three miles west of Washington on Rts. 522-211, the school was built at a total cost of $284,487.55. It is a beautiful structure of which Rappahannock can well be proud.
Seven classrooms, painted pastel shades, well-lighted and ventilated, with blackboards and bulletin boards in each, will welome the approximately 275 students when schools open September 1
In addition, some of the elementary schools have been closed and others consolidated.
