Historical Society picnic scheduled The annual picnic of the Rappahannock Historical Society will be held Friday, September 5th, at 6 p.m. at “Caledonia," the home of Phil Irwin. Members and their guests are urged to attend and a cordial invitation is extended to anyone who is interested in becoming a member.

Extension Homemakers to meet The Woodville Extension Homemakers will meet on Tuesday, September 2 at the Woodville Baptist Church at 7:30 p.m. and the Washington Extension Homemakers will meet at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Tole at 7:30 p.m.

Sperryville Business Council The Sperryville Business Council will meet September 2 at Eric Kvames Glasswork Gallery at 7:30 p.m. For further information call 987-8617.

Children’s karate lessons A twelve week series of karate lessons for children ages six and up will begin on Wednesday, September 3 at The Child Care and Learning Center. The course is open to boys and girls at beginning or advanced level. Classes will be held each day from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Call the Center to register at 675-3237. A drama workshop is on the drawing board. Details to be announced.

Beahm family reunion planned All friends and relatives are invited to the third annual G. W. Beahm family reunion to be held Sunday, August 31 beginning at 9 a.m. at the Rappahannock Park on Route 211 near Washington. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish, beverage and table service. Coffee will be provided. A special attraction this year will be for each family to submit a favorite Beahm/Boehm/Beam recipe . that has been passed on to them.
