Virginia’s involvement in the program includes increasing the number of troopers available to patrol
during the holiday period which will extend from 6 p.m., Friday, August 29 through midnight, Monday, September 1. Troopers, many working their regular days off, will be concentrating their patrols on selected sections of interstate and other major highways where statistics and past experience indicate high traffic volumes and crash frequencies can be anticipated.
