Secretary of Agriculture Richard E. Lyng announced recently that 61 counties and two cities in Virginia, including Rappahannock, are eligible for lowinterest Farmers Home Administration and Small Business Administration loans because of losses due to the year-long drought.
Farmers and agri-related businesses have eight months from the date of the disaster declaration to apply for assistance to the FHA or the SBA. Related businesses include sellers of feed, seed and fertilizer.
