A.M. Stambaugh
Miss Anna May Stambaugh, 90, died Thursday, August 21 in the Health Care unit of Williamsburg Landing.
She was bom in Falls Church and had been a Williamsburg resident since 1971.
She attended Ohio State University and was a graduate of George Washington University. She earned her masters in library science at Catholic University, Washington. She worked for the National Research Council and then as librarian in the order department of the Library of Congress. She retired in 1960.
Miss Stambaugh, a former resident of Washington, served as Rappahannock Librarian in the 1960’s.
She was a member of James River Baptist Church, Williamsburg.
Survivors include two cousins, Mrs. Cleda Bible of Montpelier, Ohio and John F. Weber of Spokane, Wash.
Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Falls Church.
