off forever. Campbell, herself a successful 108-pound loser, said this is the purpose of her counseling service. “I found the support of others to be very important when I was losing my weight,” said Campbell.
“Also, I would not have been able to keep that weight off for the past six years if I had not changed my outlook on eating and exercise as it fit into the rest of my life,” she said.
Campbell has devised 52 different lectures so that participants in her open-ended program will always be offered fresh ideas.
“We have lots of reference material and handouts - something new every week,” said Campbell. She is also testing recipes for inclusion in a cookbook, but she notes that the program is based on foods that can be purchased in local stores and does not promote a product line.
Campbell travels as far away as North Carolina where her Culpeperbased workshop has been expanded to Greensboro, Eden, Reidsville and Ruffin.
Closer to home, new classes will be opening in Madison and Orange the first of September. Classes are now being held at the Trinity Episcopal Church, Washington, Virginia, on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m., with weigh-ins beginning at 6:00 p.m. For more information, please call Carol Campbell at 8256836.
