Each summer a limited number of temporary employees are hired by Shenandoah National Park and other National Park Service areas to work in jobs such as collecting fees at entrance stations, road and campground patrols, and interpretation of area resources. “It should be noted,” said Superintendent Ronald Wrye of Shenandoah National Park, “that applications for all of these 1987 positions must be received between September 1, 1986 and January 15, 1987.” To qualify for these positions, a person must be at least 18 years old or be a high school graduate, be in good physical condition, and meet the educational or work experience requirements of the position for which he/she applies. Employees involved in law enforcement duties must be at least 21 years of age.

Shenandoah National Park also hires temporary laborers to augment its permanent work force. The application period for temporary laborers positions at Shenandoah National Park is November 1, 1986 through January 15, 1987. Completed application forms mailed to Shenandoah National Park must be postmarked no later than January 15.
