LFCC at CCLC
Three evening courses for adults will be offered by Lord Fairfax Community College at The Child Care and Learning Center beginning in September and running for the ten weeks of the autumn quarter.
Starting Monday, September 8 from 6:30 to 9:30 is a course on Homesteading. It will consist of fundamental practices and trends in the development and operation of a contemporary self-sufficient agrarian homestead. The course will be taught by Patty Nesbitt-Habib, consultant and author for 15 years on soil and water conservation. Ms. Nesbitt-Habib is known state-wide for her work with The Virginia Biological Farmer and her former association with the U.S. Environmental Service.
Two courses will be offered on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30. Introductory to Spanish will focus on understanding, speaking, reading and writing with emphasis on using the structure of the language. The teacher, Mr. Silvio Alvarez, is a native of Cuba.
The second Tuesday course, Introduction to Interior Decorating I, will deal with the principles and applications of residential decorating with an emphasis on color theory and use and the planning of space.
Each of these courses will be given for credit, and will provide three credit hours. The cost of each course is $51. Registration for the courses can be made by calling The Division of Continuing Education, Lord Fairfax Community College, 1869-1120, Extension 21.
