Fall soccer tryout
The Rappahannock Panthers will begin practice for soccer on Monday, Aug. 14 at 9:30 a.m.Coach Richard Dietz said players should bring equipment, a completed physical and be ready to play. Slaughter’s office moves
Seventh District Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr. announced that his Culpeper office has moved. Effective immediately, the new address is 121 West Locust St. in Culpeper. The office telephone remains (703) 825-3495.
Hunter safety course
There will be a Virginia Game Commission approved Hunter Safety ‘Course in Fauquier County on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26 and 27 at C.M. Crockett Park. The 10-hour course is required of all first-time hunters, all hunters under age 17, and any hunter who has had his license suspended or revoked. The free class will run from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Aug. 26, and from 1-5 p.m. on Aug. 27. To register, call the park office (703-788-4867).
Reading Club continues
The Rappahannock County Library's Paddington Bear Reading Club, its summer program for children, continues its Wednesday morning meetings at 10 a.m. All children are invited to participate in this free program, and parents are welcome to : attend as wel I.
