Helen L. Newell

Helen Louise Newell, 70, of Weyers Cave died Monday, July 31, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

She was bom May 11, 1919 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Davin and Bertha Breeden Hinton.

Mrs. Newell was employed by DuPlan in Grottoes. She was a member of the Grottoes Pentecostal Church.

On Feb. 4, 1976 she married Henry 0. Newell, who survives.

Surviving besides her husband are a daughter, Meredith Southerly of Broadway; two stepdaughters, Fay Clinedinst of Boston and Nancy Frazier of Grottoes; three brothers, Kenneth and Carroll Taylor both of Waynesboro and James Taylor of Shenandoah; five grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and 10 step great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was conducted Wednesday morning, Aug. 2, in Port Republic Cemetery by the Rev. Johnny Morris.
